09. Georgia Bulldogs (14-2, 2-1)

Georgia is making a huge leap in this week's rankings following wins over two ranked teams. The Bulldogs hosted Kentucky and Oklahoma this week beating the Wildcats by 13 and the Sooners by 10, holding both teams to under 40 percent from the floor. While the offense hasn’t been great, Georgia’s defense has been impressive since the start of SEC play. The Bulldogs have yet to allow a conference opponent to score more than 69 points. Georgia has its toughest two-game stretch of the season this upcoming week as it takes on Tennessee in Knoxville and Auburn at home, so we will see if Georgia is a legitimate threat to win the conference. Georgia is moving in the right direction, but without a solid offense, we’ll see how long it can last.

08. Ole Miss Rebels (14-2, 3-0)

Ole Miss is one of three undefeated teams through the first three SEC games of the season. The Rebels picked up wins at Arkansas and home versus LSU. Ole Miss has benefited from a somewhat weak SEC schedule, but the win over Georgia is looking better and a road conference win no matter the school will always be solid. Since the start of SEC play Ole Miss has the top defense in the conference - holding opponents to 60.7 points per game on 35.8 percent from the floor. The Rebels travel to Alabama and Mississippi State this week, so we will see if the defensive success is real or just a product of facing poor offenses. Either way, Ole Miss has been impressive in conference play.

07. Texas A&M Aggies (13-3, 2-1)

Texas A&M split its games this week, winning at Oklahoma 80-78 and losing at home to Alabama 94-88. The Aggies were without star player Wade Taylor IV for both games, and A&M's defense suffered in his absence. Zurich Phelps benefited the most with Taylor out of the lineup, scoring 34 points against Oklahoma and 24 against Alabama. The offense has improved slightly in SEC play, but the Aggies are still only shooting 43 percent from the floor. Offensive rebounding keeps A&M in close games against much more efficient opponents. Texas A&M will need a much better defensive performance moving forward, but the Aggies are still in a good position to win the conference following the loss to Alabama.
