If Coach Steven Pearl had to pick two guys to return for next year, it’s probably Pettiford and Overton. That’ll be one of the best backcourts in the SEC, while Kimble, who signed with Vandy but missed all of last year with an injury, provides depth.
But is the frontcourt better? Even assuming Freeman bounces back offensively, he, Dowd, and Olsen will be a downgrade defensively in the SEC. The schedule won’t be as tough for Auburn overall, but their overall placement in the conference likely won’t be much different.
