12. Missouri Tigers (11-3, 0-1)

Missouri had the difficult task of taking on Auburn to open SEC play. Mizzou kept the game close for a few minutes but that didn’t last long and Auburn, as it has done to nearly every opponent this year, quickly took a double-digit lead. Mizzou dropped the game 84-68, but things could have been much worse. At the 13:24 mark in the second half, Missouri found itself down 26. Marques Warrick scored 19 points off the bench to lead Mizzou in scoring. Missouri ran into a buzzsaw against Auburn but held up better than some of the other SEC programs.

11. Vanderbilt Commodores (13-1, 1-0)

Vanderbilt is the lone SEC team to win on the road this weekend beating LSU on its home court 80-72. This was win number 13 on the season, which is huge considering Vanderbilt won nine total games last season. AJ Hoggard scored 13 of his 17 points in the second half including a huge three to give Vanderbilt the lead with a little over six minutes to play. Four other Commodores scored in double-digits, with Jaylen Carey and MJ Collins Jr both scoring 14 points off the bench. This was a big win for a Vanderbilt team that has an outside chance of making the NCAA Tournament.

10. Arkansas Razorbacks (11-3, 0-1)

Arkansas dropped its first game of SEC play 76-52 to Tennessee. The Razorbacks struggled to score the ball and to stop the Volunteers from scoring. DJ Wagner (17 points) and Boogie Fland (12 points) were the only two Razorbacks to hit double-digit scoring in the game. Arkansas kept the game close for about 11 minutes in the first half, then quickly learned why Tennessee is ranked No. 1 in the country. Arkansas was finally starting to click but wasn’t quite at the same talent level as Tennessee. The Razorbacks did block 10 shots, so not everything was terrible for Arkansas to start league play.
