06. Texas A&M Aggies (9-2)

Texas A&M has played one of the toughest non-conference schedules and has faired extremely well considering how inconsistent the offense has been. Wins over Texas Tech and Purdue in the past week have been impressive. The loss to UCF to start the season continues to haunt the Aggies, but Buzz Williams has his team rebound and defending at elite levels to make up for the offense. It’s hard not to reward Texas A&M for beating some of the best teams in the country, even if the offense is virtually unwatchable.

05. Kentucky Wildcats (10-1)

Kentucky has started to come back to earth over the past couple of games. After dominating the early part of the non-conference schedule the Wildcats have started to miss a few more threes and give up a few more points. It’s somewhat easy to chalk up the close win over Colgate a hangover from the overtime win over Gonzaga and the close win over Louisville to it being a bitter rivalry game. At any rate, Kentucky is still one of the best teams in college basketball.

04. Florida Gators (10-0)

Florida continues to win and win easily this season. The Gators have won every game this season by at least 13 points, with huge wins over Virginia and Arizona State in the past two games. Beating both teams by an average of 17.5 points. The defense has been worlds better than last year, only one team has managed to score more than 75 points on Florida this season. The top five schools in the SEC are some of the best in the country and should all have their sights set on a national title.
