In his third year with the Syracuse basketball program, head coach Adrian Autrey and staff added a half dozen immediate impact players from the spring transfer portal early this offseason. Adding depth and talent in key parts of the rotation was crucial for Syracuse this offseason, coming off a 14-win season in the ACC this past spring in 2024-25.

Despite the six portal additions early this offseason, Autrey and the Orange did have to replace five key departures via the spring transfer window in the core part of the rotation.

Chris Bell, F

California native and junior forward Chris Bell entered the spring transfer portal window after spending three seasons at Syracuse in the ACC. Bell was the first starter for the Orange to enter the spring transfer window early this offseason.

Bell had inconsistent appearances in the starting five for Autrey and the Orange in the ACC this past season. After getting over 60 starts in his first two seasons of his collegiate career at Syracuse (from 2022-2024), Bell started just over a dozen games this past campaign in 2024-25.

Petar Majstorovic, F

True freshman forward from Haguenau, France, Petar Majstorovic, entered the spring transfer portal window after spending one season at Syracuse. The 6-foot-8 and 215-pound forward averaged around three points per game and three rebounds in over 30 games played for the Cuse this past season.

Majstorovic and Bell are both heading to the West Coast via the spring transfer window early this offseason by committing to Long Beach State in Southern California going into the 2025-26 season.

Chance Westry, G

Former high-four-star recruit from Chandler (AZ) Compass Prep, junior guard Chance Westry, entered the transfer portal early this offseason for the second time in the past three years. Westry only played three games off the bench for Syracuse in the past two seasons after transferring from the Auburn Tigers in the SEC a couple of years ago in the 2023 offseason.

Injury issues limited Westry to just 10 minutes played in three games this past season in the ACC.

Kyle Cuffe Jr., G

Junior guard and New Jersey native Kyle Cuffe Jr. was the first Syracuse player to enter the spring transfer portal window early this offseason. Cuffe entered the transfer portal for the second time in the past three offseasons after spending two seasons in New York with the Orange in the ACC.

The former Kansas Jayhawks national-title winner in 2023 averaged a career-high five points per game and one rebound in a dozen minutes played off the bench for the Orange this past season in 2024-25.

Elijah Moore, G

Ex-top-100-rated recruit from the 2024 signing class, Bronx native guard Elijah Moore, was one of two Syracuse players with starting experience who entered the spring transfer portal window. Moore showed some glimpses of brilliance during his true freshman campaign at Syracuse this past season, including a season-high 24 points in a loss to the ranked Tennessee Volunteers.

Moore also scored in double figures in two Syracuse wins, including 19 points in a double-digit win over Cornell in late November last fall.
