The TCU Horned Frogs head out on the road Wednesday night to face the BYU Cougars in a key Big 12 matchup. Both teams enter at different points in their season arcs. TCU is trying to stabilize after back-to-back losses, while BYU continues to surge and sit near the top of the conference standings.
TCU is 11-5 overall and coming off a 13-point home loss to the Arizona Wildcats. Before that, the Horned Frogs let a late lead slip away in a road loss at the Kansas Jayhawks. Their Big 12 play opened with a win over the Baylor Bears, and prior to conference action, TCU closed non-league play with five straight wins. Earlier losses this season came against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Michigan Wolverines, and New Orleans. After this game, TCU stays on the road to face the Utah Utes on Saturday.
BYU enters at 15-1 overall and riding a 12-game winning streak. The Cougars’ only loss came back on November 15 against the UConn Huskies. Since then, BYU has stacked up quality wins over Villanova Wildcats, Wisconsin Badgers, Miami Hurricanes, Dayton Flyers, and Clemson Tigers. The Cougars are coming off a road win at Utah and are tied with Arizona and Iowa State Cyclones atop the Big 12 standings. After Wednesday, BYU faces a demanding stretch with back-to-back games against Arizona and Kansas.

Game Outlook
BYU is built to wear teams down. The Cougars have multiple scoring options and rarely depend on just one player to carry the load. If it is not Dybantsa setting the tone, Saunders or Wright is capable of taking over long stretches of the game. That balance has been a major reason for BYU’s long winning streak.
For TCU, this is a tough spot. A loss would mark their third in Big 12 play, and the margin for error is shrinking. If the Horned Frogs do not start cleaner and faster, this could turn into a long night in Provo. It is a compelling Big 12 matchup with major standings implications as conference play continues to heat up.
