We’ve had a recent surge of teams announcing their non-conference schedules for the upcoming season, another sign that we’re getting closer to November 3rd. Focusing on the more notable programs, here’s a summary of some programs’ non-con schedules and what to watch for.

Clemson Tigers

Compared to some of the other ACC programs like Notre Dame and Miami, Clemson has a strong slate, featuring seven power conference opponents. The main highlight is the matchup against BYU and No. 1 incoming freshman AJ Dybantsa in New York City.

Memphis Tigers

Only Gonzaga consistently schedules tougher opponents among the programs outside the power conferences, and this is another great schedule. They have home battles with Baylor and Vanderbilt, along with two potential top-10 foes in the Baha Mar MTE, where they face Purdue and possibly Texas Tech.

Oklahoma State Cowboys

The schedule reflects the Cowboys’ rebuilding status, with just three high-major opponents. One is the annual rivalry battle with Oklahoma, along with two capable upset candidates in South Florida and Grand Canyon.

Virginia Cavaliers

The lone true road game for UVA was forced on them thanks to the ACC/SEC Challenge, taking on Texas. While there are six high-major foes, nine of them are surefire NCAA Tournament rosters. Yet with a program starting over in its own right, it’s hard to be mad at Coach Ryan Odom and the strategy.

Dayton Flyers

The Flyers schedule with at-large aspirations, and they have a few strong future opponents, including Cincy, Marquette, Virginia, and possibly BYU in the ESPN Events Invitational. But they’ll have to be careful when they face teams such as Bethune-Cookman and Liberty at home, teams with the potential to give them a real scare.

Texas A&M Aggies

In the first year of the HC Bucky McMillian era, the Aggies are taking things lightly in the non-con. There is a trio of high-major teams to watch, including ACC programs, Pittsburgh and SMU. There’s a good chance Texas A&M will be unbeaten before they get to those back-to-back matchups.,
