The Bryant Bulldogs were one of the lower seeds with the potential to make some noise in the NCAA Tournament despite being a 15-seed. They’re one of the top-scoring teams in the nation while taking on an opponent in Michigan State who doesn’t put up a ton of points.
The Spartans only have two double-digit scorers on the roster, along with several role players with the ability to give them production. One of them is Coen Carr, a 6’7 sophomore wing who doesn’t space the floor or shoot the ball but uses his energy and athleticism to overwhelm opponents, especially on the fastbreak.
We’re supposed to be worried about a 6’5 forward that averages 8-3? 😂😂 pic.twitter.com/SfmEyuIXNR

Bryant fans and supporters, however, weren’t as afraid of Carr. In fact, one post, which has now gone viral, mocked Carr’s potential impact on the game. The Bulldogs had an early lead in the Round of 64 matchup, thanks to its potent offense. But at some point, Bryant was making mistakes, which Carr and Michigan State made them pay for several times.
In the first half, Carr led all scorers with 15 points, making six of seven attempts in the basket. He singlehandedly led Michigan State to a lead in the first half, one they carried over to a 33-28 advantage at halftime. For a 2-seed, this is still a small win for Bryant, considering they were clear underdogs in the game and now are just 20 minutes away from the biggest upset in the NCAA Tournament. With the lack of upsets in the first round overall, it would be a welcomed development for college basketball fans.
At the same time, it’s always funny when one post can immediately end up being a freezing-cold take. But the biggest issue is how Bryant will slow down Carr in transition and around the bucket. If they don’t make the right adjustments, Carr will be sending Bryant home after Friday night.
