4. USC Trojans
Rodney Rice (20.3 ppg and 6.0 apg in 6 games)
KJ Lewis (14.9 ppg and 5.1 rpg at Georgetown)
Jalen Cox (17.9 ppg and 5,3 apg at Colgate)
Isaac Bruns (20.8 ppg and 5.1 rpg at South Dakota)
Joshua Hughes (9.3 ppg and 4.7 rpg at Evansville)
For the last several years, Coach Eric Musselman has had massive roster turnover. Considering the overall results, it’s turned into not a good thing. But even if guys like Elijah Arenas, Jacob Cofie, of the incoming five-star prospects elect to go pro after next season, there’s now a real opportunity for roster continuity.
Rice was on track for an All-American campaign before he suffered a season-ending injury. He now has two years himself, along with Lewis, a starting guard coming from Georgetown. Guys like Cox and Bruns tends to get lost in the mix in the past but if either find a role in the rotation, they can now stick around for another year.
Even a guy like Hughes would be important for USC, depending on how many frontcourt pieces they lose to the draft. The Trojans could benefit the most from any Big Ten team from the new rules and it could be what’s needed to move up the conference ladder.
