13. Pittsburgh Panthers

A’lahn Sumler (18.9 ppg and 3.8 apg at Charleston Southern)
Baye Ndongo (11.8 ppg and 8.1 rpg at Georgia Tech)
Naithan George (10.9 ppg and 5.4 rpg at Syracuse)
Armani Mighty (13.2 ppg and 10.6 rpg at Mercer)

After barely hanging on to get another year, Coach Jeff Capel added 10 transfers, with a few being underclassmen. Then, there are the four players above who now have another year. Ndongo and George reunite after playing at Georgia Tech, with both being three-year starters in the ACC.

If things go well, these two can be five-year starters in the ACC if they stick at Pittsburgh. Sumler was one of the top scorers in the Big South and ideally could use two years to acclimate to the high-major level.

The same goes with Mighty, who started off his career at Boston College (with little production), before breaking out at Mercer. The SoCon Defensive Player of the Year is in a similar spot to Sumler as mid-major guys who won’t have just one year moving to the power conference level, assuming they’re good enough.
