9. Nebraska Cornhuskers
Pryce Sandfort (18.1 ppg and 4.9 rpg)
Cale Jacobsen (4.6 ppg and 2.9 rpg)
Trevan Leonhardt (11.9 ppg and 6.0 apg at Utah Valley)
Kadyn Betts (3.1 ppg and 1.1 rpg at Montana)
Boden Kapke (10.6 ppg and 5.7 rpg at Boston College)
The Cornhuskers are coming off their best season in program history, making the Sweet 16 for the first time ever. The star of the team was Sandfort, who led the team in scoring and shot over 40% from three-point range. The scenario where the sharpshooting wing could spend all five years may be difficult (could be a 2027 NBA Draft prospect), but now it can actually happen.
Kapke and Leonhardt are two others Nebraska would benefit from having an extra year with, while Jacobsen is a role player who can develop into a key starter with another season of eligibility.
Ultimately, this is about Sandfort potentially being a 5th-year senior for Nebraska. If that happens, combined with multiple trips to the NCAA Tournament, he’d end up as one of the most important players in modern Big Ten times.
