8. Alabama Crimson Tide

Aden Holloway (16.8 ppg and 3.8 apg)
Drew Fielder (14.7 ppg and 5.7 rpg at Boise State)
Brandon Garrison (4.7 ppg and 4.1 rpg at Kentucky)

There are just a trio of players who would benefit from Alabama here, but if they were to keep all three, it could set itself up for a top-5-caliber roster a year from now. It would depend on Holloway, who recently reached a plea deal to avoid any future legal issues from a past arrest.

While Philon had all of the attention in Alabama’s backcourt, Holloway also produced career-high numbers. The former five-star prospect out of high school probably never thought he’d be a 5-year player. But at 6’1, he’ll need a huge fourth year as the lead guard to be a clear 1st-round draft option. Otherwise, he can get a huge deal to return as Alabama’s lead guard.

Frontcourt play was a big issue for the Tide last season, but they added a new crop of players. Fielder had a breakout year at Boise State and was one of the top stretch forwards in the country, while Garrison is a solid depth body for the program. Having those two around for multiple years would help the program avoid overpaying for free-agent bigs next year.
