The Wisconsin Badgers won 27 games last season as a surprise Big Ten contender. They showed early signs of being a national threat, beating teams such as Pitt, UCF, and Arizona among their 8-0 start of the season.
After retooling its roster, Wisconsin looks to get off to another strong start to the 2025-26 campaign. Their non-con slate has been released, including playing two unconfirmed games in the Rady Children’s Invitational. They’ll play two of Florida, TCU, and Providence, with the Gators being the clear headliner.

However, there are also some quality confirmed opponents to watch. Here’s a look at the three most notable foes to watch for the Badgers.
3. Villanova Wildcats (N)
It’s a new era at Villanova, as Coach Kevin Willard comes over from Maryland as the new leader. Among the new key players to watch are guards Devin Askew and top-30 freshman Acaden Lewis, along with Grand Canyon forward Duke Brennan. The frontcourt depth is a question, which could give the Badgers an edge.
2. Marquette Golden Eagles (H)
The Eagles are without star guard Kam Jones and didn’t land anyone in the transfer portal this offseason. However, look for the returning players, including Chase Ross, Ben Gold, and Royce Parham, to take on larger roles. Look for incoming four-star guards Nigel James Jr. and Adrien Stevens to have an impact in the rotation as well.
1. BYU Cougars (N)
For BYU, all eyes will be on incoming No. 1 freshman forward, AJ Dybantsa. The team also brings back leading scorer Richie Saunders, along with the addition of two key transfers in Robert Wright III and Kenard Davis. This will be one of the most intriguing teams in the nation next season, and on paper, should be the most formidable foe for Wisconsin if they don’t play Florida.
