Arizona State Commit Jordan Washington Arrested

facebooktwitterreddit

According to the Ottumwa Post, 2015 Arizona State commit Jordan Washington was arrested in Iowa for shoplifting DVD’s at Walmart that amounted to less than $20.

Washington attempted to steal “Curse of Chucky” and (ironically) “Taken” from Walmart before getting caught and charged with fifth-degree theft.  He was jailed, but was subsequently bailed out when his bond of $300.00 was paid.

More from Arizona State Sun Devils

The total value of the goods the 6-8, 255 forward was trying to make off with?  $17.84.  Seriously.

Indian Hills Community College, where Washington was going to play in 2014, has suspended him indefinitely until they complete their own investigation and the legal system makes a ruling regarding the charges against him.

A JuCo transfer for 2015, Washington was the only player in the 2015 class for the Sun Devils. However, his future is certainly in jeopardy pending the investigation. He committed to Arizona State just over a week ago, seemingly finding his future complete.

Aside from the fact that even novice level computer users can stream and download movies for free which has all but made the DVD obsolete, is $17.84 worth a shot at playing basketball at a Division I school?

All these leads to the question, what do you think of Washington’s actions? Let us know down below!
