1. Frank Kaminsky, Wisconsin
Stats: 17.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 53.8% FG, 40.4% 3PT
Pretty clearly, this is a runaway race. For as great as everyone on this list has been, Kaminsky has been that much better. When looking at either regular stats or advanced stats, Kaminsky is at or near the top.
His 34.9 player efficient rating is tops in the country. His 4.8 win shares are 3rd in the country. His win shares per 40 minutes is 2nd in the country behind Jahlil Okafor. If you focus on just the Big Ten, the discrepancy is even greater. His 311 points produced is 7th in the country but top among big men. With a defensive rating of 83.8, he finds himself atop that leaderboard as well as his conference-leading 4.8 win shares.
Moving away from the stats, no player in the country is as dynamic as Kaminsky. His ability to play inside and outside makes him unguardable. It also makes him the runaway choice as the favorite for the Big Ten’s best player.
