Kansas Jayhawks: Commitment secured from Top-15 recruit Carlton Bragg
By Daniel Tran
The Kansas Jayhawks frontcourt is about to get another five-star boost. Carlton Bragg, the No. 1 ranked recruit out of Ohio, has made a commitment to join Kansas in the Fall of 2015. Bragg selected Kansas over Kentucky and Arizona, who were also recruiting him.
Carlton, who is ranked 14th in the Busting Brackets Top 100, brings an aggressive, above the rim player that can also stretch out the defense with decent outside shooting. The 6’8, 210 pound forward from Villa Angela-Saint Joseph in Cleveland, Ohio, also has a good feel for blocking shots and can be a good defensive player if the right coach can teach him how to use his already mature frame.
He already plays with an edge and competes physically on both the offensive and defensive glass. His ability to shoot from the outside will complement the exclusive movements of Cliff Alexander inside the paint if Alexander decides to return to Kansas next fall.
In a Big 12 conference that has been one of the toughest conferences this year, Kansas will need Carlton to be another key piece in an already talented frontline potentially mixed with young players and veteran leadership. If Cliff Alexander and Perry Ellis decidedto return to the Jayhawks next year, this Kansas team will be in a great position to compete for the conference title.
