Hidden in shadows of the Big 12, Big Ten, and ACC conferences is a monster conference that no one is talking about, but may be the toughest in the nation. The Big East has not reaped the respect of the national media like those conferences named above, but they sure don’t lack talent, which will be on display during the 2015 Big East Tournament.
In Joe Lundari’s latest bracketology, the Big East has six teams currently in position to make the NCAA Tournament field. Villanova, Providence, and Butler were the only Big East teams to be ranked headed into Sunday, March 8, but Georgetown is surging going into the Big East Tournament.

In a five-day span, Georgetown beat ranked Butler and Seton Hall to enter into a two-way tie with for second place in the Big East conference with the aforementioned Butler Bulldogs. Because Georgetown beat Butler twice, they will be the number two seed in the tournament, receive a first round bye, and enter the 2015 Big East Tournament with an AP Poll ranking.
It will be tough to unseat Villanova as the Kings of the Big East, but Georgetown is riding a wave a success right now that might topple the Wildcats and earn Georgetown an even more favorable seed in the NCAA tournament.
