For most of the second half, it looked like the Georgia State Panthers was out of luck. Then R.J. Hunter happened.
Scoring 12 of 13 points in a 13-0 run to close the game, star guard R.J. Hunter buried the BOMB for three to put Georgia State up by one with 2.6 seconds left
It’s a shot that would make T.J. Sorrentine proud.

The run started with Georgia State down 56-44 with 2:39 to play. Hunter hit a pair of free throws, then hit a three-pointer, then a jumper, and then a lay-up all in 1:19 seconds to cut the deficit to 56-53. After some missed jumpers from both teams, Georgia State’s Isaiah Dennis hit a free throw to cut it to a two-point game.
After a missed free throw from Baylor’s Kenny Chery, Georgia State corralled the rebound and set up the three-pointer to win the game.
The win propped off an improbably comeback and sent the second 3-seeded Big 12 home in the first round, with Iowa State joining them in the collapse on Thursday, losing to UAB.
