2016 NBA Draft Radar: Wake Forest’s Devin Thomas and Codi Miller-McIntyre
Yeah we know, football season is about to kickoff. There are way better things to talk about than college basketball.
Hoop junkies need their basketball fix regardless, don’t worry it will be okay.

Wake Forest Basketball for example is something that fans at that particular school are more interested in than the football team anyway. They already know their football team is not going to do much. They might as well be interested in the good news that is going to be spread about their basketball team.
If you had to pick one team that is for certain ready to break out of the ACC cellar, it would be Wake Forest.
Yes, we are going to call this way out in August so there is no doubt about where you heard it first. The Demon Deacons are built for a breakout season in Danny Manning‘s second year at the helm.
Four teams finished under .500 with their overall record last season in the ACC. Virginia Tech was the worse team finishing 11-22.
Georgia Tech was the second worse team in the ACC with a 12-19 record. Wake Forest and Boston College both finished with 13- 19 overall records.
But out of all of those teams, the team that gives you the best feeling about there 2015-16 chances is Wake Forest.
This should be a very motivated team led by seniors Devin Thomas and Codi Miller-McIntyre.
Wake Forest has not seen any kind of NCAA Tournament action since their 2009-10 season under Dino Gaudio.
Since then, Wake Forest has only one season over .500 and that was 2013-14 under Jeff Bzdelik when the Deacons finished 17-16.

Devin Thomas and Codi Miller-McIntyre will come into this season more motivated than ever to end the suffering on the basketball court and actually get out of the cellar. Wake Forest is 43-53 over the last three seasons
Thomas is playing the 2015-16 season for more than getting the Demon Deacons back to respectability before he leaves. He is also playing to improve his draft stock for the 2016 NBA Draft.
Thomas averaged 12.0 points and a team high 8.8 rebounds in 2014-15. He is on the radar of NBA Scouts because of his leaping ability and activity in the paint while also showing enough of an outside touch on the baseline to be respectable.
The 6-foot-9, 255 pound, power forward, has the wingspan, strength, quickness, to be a solid post defender while being able to play defense away from the hoop also.
He can also finish on the break and finish around the rim efficiently. Thomas is shooting 51.1% from the floor for his career and shot 49.5% from the field last season for the Demon Deacons.
In the current 2016 Mock Draft, Devin Thomas is the 58th best talent on the board out of 60 on nbadraft.net and is nowhere in the mock draft made by draftexpress.com.
Codi Miller-McIntyre is nowhere to be found in either Mock Draft after coming off of averaging 14.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 2014-15.
Recognition is kind of hard when you are not getting many victories to be recognized for. But at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds, that is NBA size that should get you a look from somebody.
Plus, Miller-McIntyre rebounds well from his point guard position and is shooting efficiently knocking down 45.0% of his shots from the field.
True, his three-point percentage leaves something to be desired only knocking down 26.6% of his treys in his career and 28% of his three-point attempts in 2014-15.
But the way he finishes with strength around the basket and knocks down mid-range shots is a plus.
Hopefully he worked on his three-point shooting over the summer. If Miller-McIntyre is able to improve his three-point shooting to about 37% or better, he should definitely be on somebody’s radar.

But the thing that is going to aid in both players getting noticed by the NBA is simply winning. Playing four-years of college is really not a penalty.
If anything, those players are coming out of college with a little bit more seasoning.
These are two players in the nation where playing four-years of ACC ball should be something that enhances their NBA chances.
With the opportunity to get out of the ACC basement and be one of the most improved teams in the conference, Devin Thomas and Codi Miller McIntyre should get the attention from scouts they deserve and garner NBA Draft consideration.
