2016 NBA Draft Radar: Providence’s Kris Dunn is the Best Point Guard in the Nation
This really should go without saying, but then again with the current mentality of hoop junkies being that if you did not leave after your freshman year, or that you, heaven forbid, played more than two years of college ball, their must be something wrong with you.

That is the biggest falsehood ever told. However in Kris Dunn‘s case, it was a necessary occurrence.
If we are honest, Dunn would have probably been gone from college ball by now if it was not for having to have two surgeries on his right shoulder in the span of three years.
People who watched Dunn play know that he is the truth. At the same time, Dunn needed to prove that he is totally healthy after having those surgeries.
He might have been able to bail from Providence last season after putting up 15.6 points and 7.5 assists while shooting 47.4% from the field in 33 games.
But he did the wise thing and stayed in college to make sure he gets the draft position he truly deserves while having the opportunity to remove all doubt their might be that he may have or NBA scouts may have about his shoulder.
Kris Dunn is the truth and is the best point guard in the nation, period.

He has great point guard size at 6-foot-4, 205 pounds, and has the wingspan to go along with that size.
He has the quickness to break down most people off the dribble and get to the rim for strong finishes with his leaping ability, and as evidenced by his high assists total, he is unselfish.
Quietly, the injury may have made Dunn a better player because it forced him to slow down just a taste.
For most people, slowing down might have messed up their game, but Kris Dunn is so ultra quick, slowing down may have made the game easier for him.
The cold part is that he has the potential to be a solid defensive point guard on the next level to go along with the offensive exploits he can bring to the floor.
Dunn is currently viewed as a Top 10 lottery pick for the 2016 NBA Draft. Right now according to nbadraft.net he is the No.9 pick in the draft, while draftexpress.com has Dunn sitting as the No.8 prospect in the 2016 NBA Draft.
As far as Dunn and his NBA status this season it should only be a formality. If he left last year, he might have been taken later in the draft than he deserved and not gotten the rookie scale dollars afforded to him.
In fact, as deep as last year’s draft was, there was a very high chance that the two shoulder surgeries would have been used against him to pay him way below his true value.

For Kris Dunn, 2015-16 is about solidifying his lottery status and removing doubt about his health, if there is any left in the minds of NBA people.
Playing 33 games last year is a great start toward erasing fears from anyone’s minds. Playing another 30 plus would earn everyone’s stamp of approval.
It is simply too hard to pass up a collegiate player that can bring the all-around point guard ability that Kris Dunn can bring.
Just on a pure point guard level, if you are an NBA team that is looking for someone to run your offense while still being able to get his own buckets, this is your guy.
Between his playmaking ability and defensive potential, Dunn is pretty close to can’t miss. It is just a matter of health.
Kris Dunn is going to stay healthy and show everyone that he is truly the best point guard in the nation this year, book it!
