You know you want to get a good look at LSU’s freshman sensation Ben Simmons as he embarks on his SEC journey, and he is going to have some pretty interesting test out of the gate.

His SEC Conference debut is going to be January 2nd on the road in Nashville, Tennessee to face Damian Jones and the Vanderbilt Commodores.
LSU at Vanderbilt can be seen that Saturday on ESPN2 at 9PM ET.
This game is a pretty nice road test to start off with for Ben Simmons and company as they begin there quest to possibly kick Kentucky from the top of the mountain.
Speaking of Kentucky, that will be the second matchup for Ben Simmons in the opening week of SEC play.
John Calipari’s Wildcats will visit the Bayou to face the LSU Tigers on Tuesday Jan. 5th.
This game will pit Ben Simmons against the No.2 freshman in the country Skal Labissiere. They won’t be the only impressive freshman participating in that game.

Point Guard/Shooting Guard Jamal Murray is a top flight freshman as well who is expected to go high in the 2016 NBA Draft next summer, and five-star point guard Antonio Blankney will be getting his first crack at beating the Wildcats in Baton Rouge.
Kentucky at LSU tips-off at 9pm ET and can be seen on ESPN. There is no doubt that this matchup should be the first to give off a big game, heavyweight fight vibe.
Honorable mention games for the opening week of SEC action is the January 2nd game when Tennessee goes on the road and faces Auburn which will have Rick Barnes vs Bruce Pearl in their first competition during SEC play.
Tennessee at Auburn can be seen on CBS at 2PM ET.
Also, the college coaching debut of Avery Johnson when he leads the Alabama Crimson Tide on the court to face the Ole Miss Rebels in Oxford on Thursday January 7th.
