Avery Johnson is going to get his first conference look at Kentucky when John Calipari brings his kids to Tuscaloosa to take on the Crimson Tide.
After the Tide come off of their Thursday tilt on the road at Ole Miss, Tuscaloosa should be rockin’ for this game. Kentucky is going to be all business, but Avery Johnson’s young squad will be up for the challenge.
Kentucky at Alabama happens Saturday January 9th at 6PM ET and can be seen on The SEC Network.
After Avery Johnson gets his shot at beating the Wildcats, new Mississippi State head coach Ben Howland will take his shot at the Wildcats when he and highly touted freshman Malik Newman roll into Lexington to face the Kentucky Wildcats.
Newman is a probable “one and done” player that could really use this game to build up his draft stock.
Ben Howland is known for being a defensive minded coach that does not mind slowing the pace down if needed, so it will be interesting to see who’s style of play wins out in this matchup.
Mississippi State at Kentucky takes place on Tuesday January 12th at 7PM ET and can be seen on The SEC Network.
