NCAA Basketball: Bracket for Cayman Islands Basketball Classic revealed

In preparation of its inaugural season, the Cayman Islands Basketball Classic has released its bracket for the beginning of the NCAA basketball season.

The Cayman Islands Basketball Classic will take place between November 20th-22nd this upcoming season in the John Gray Gymnasium. This eight team tournament will consist of the following teams: Iowa, Cincinnati, Louisiana-Lafayette, Wyoming, Buffalo, South Dakota State, Richmond, and UAB.

The tournament is being sponsored by the Mountain West Conference and should be a good way for some mid-major schools to raise their strength of schedule and possibly add a marquee win over a team like Cincinnati or Iowa.

As released by the University of Iowa, the first round match-ups on November 20th are as follows:

Iowa vs. Louisiana-Lafayette at 12:00 p.m. ET

South Dakota State vs. Wyoming at 2:30 p.m. ET

Richmond vs. UAB at 5:00 p.m. ET

Cincinnati vs. Buffalo at 7:30 p.m.

Following the opening round, the semifinal games will take place on November 21st at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. while the teams that lost their opening games will play at 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Finally, the championship game will be played on the 22nd at 7:30 p.m. Prior to the finale, the seventh place game (12:00 p.m.), fifth place game (2:30 p.m.), and third place game (5:00 p.m.) will be completed.

Tournament play in the beginning of the college basketball season is a great way for teams to get experience while fans enjoy sensational basketball, and the Cayman Islands Classic adds yet another few days of fun.
