Mitchell Robinson will reportedly make a visit to the Kansas Jayhawks this weekend. Could he choose to play in Lawrence for Bill Self?

Former Western Kentucky Hilltoppers’ player Mitchell Robinson is looking for a new team after parting ways with the Conference USA school.

The five-star expected lottery pick has said that he is open to transfer as opposed to playing overseas if the right opportunity comes along.

Naturally, universities across the country are scrambling to get a player of his caliber to come play for them, especially if the NCAA decides to allow him to play next season.

247Sports has reported that Robinson will be visiting the Kansas Jayhawks this weekend.

While beneficial to both Robinson and the Jayhawks, a move to Kansas would seemingly come out of nowhere.

Robinson, who is from Louisiana, was heavily recruited by the Alabama Crimson Tide and the LSU Tigers before his commitment to Western Kentucky, and it would make more sense for him to look at the schools he wanted to go to prior to his commitment that are closer to home – especially since he was only blocked from transferring to other C-USA programs and both schools have a shot at making into the NCAA Tournament.

However, if he is declared eligible, he could make the Jayhawks one of the favorites to win it all next season almost immediately.

This year’s Kansas squad is going to be extremely dangerous and, while they look like a solid Sweet 16 and Big 12 favorite now, the addition of an eligible Robinson could make them all but a lock for the Final Four.

If he wants to raise his draft stock while learning under one of the best coaches in college basketball and leading a team on a deep run in March, Kansas could be the perfect choice.

Next: Where should Mitchell Robinson transfer?

However, it remains to be seen what the NCAA will decide on his eligibility and, of course, where he will transfer to next season.
