Shooting guard: Joshua Langford vs. Kenny Williams
These two shooting guards might be the lesser known of the players involved in this game but certainly will play a vital role in the outcome. Joshua Langford is currently averaging 11.8 ppg and is shooting 35% from three-point range.
The common criticism for the sophomore not only from last year but this year as well is his consistency. There are games where he can make an impact and hit a few threes to help the team, and there are times where he disappears all-together. He sometimes relies on the three-ball a bit too much, but, when he’s on, he can shoot the lights out.
Kenny Williams is a 6’4 guard that has seen a big increase in his scoring production with his newfound minutes. It’s early and Berry was out for a bit, but the junior’s 15.2 ppg average is a great sign that he can be relied upon when needed. He’s been hot from distance to start out, going 14-24 from three.
Both are capable of scoring and are adept defenders as well. Williams currently doubles Langford in assists (2.8-1.4) and has more of an impact in other facets of the game.
