Texas A&M vs. Arizona: College Basketball game preview, TV schedule
By Taylor Sturm
The Arizona Wildcats and Texas A&M Aggies will face off in a game between two teams that could legitimately win it all. Who comes out on top in what could be a season-changer for both?
TV Schedule: Tuesday, Dec. 5, 9:00 p.m. ET, ESPN2
Arena: Talking Stick Resort Arena, Phoenix, Arizona
Could things get much worse for the Arizona Wildcats?
Allonzo Trier and Deandre Ayton have done everything we expected of them this season and have looked absolutely phenomenal. The pair is dominating opponents and scoring at will.
Unfortunately, neither of them are getting help from anyone else on this team. No matter how good Trier and Ayton are, they cannot win games against top opponents single-handedly.
The good news is that things are looking up for the Wildcats. Losses to Purdue, NC State, and SMU stung, but all three are looking to be potential NCAA Tournament or NIT teams. A blowout win against Long Beach State and a narrow victory over an undefeated UNLV team in addition to the eventual return of Rawle Alkins bodes well for this team moving forward.
However, my fear is that fans begin to turn on Sean Miller sooner rather than later, because Arizona will make the NCAA Tournament and do have the potential to win it all – even if it does not look like it right now. This might be the SEC fan in me, constantly worried a string of bad losses means the end of a coach.
That being said, things are not going to get easier for the Wildcats. Their next game, while at home, might be against the most underrated team in college basketball – the Texas A&M Aggies.
Texas A&M opened the season with a dominating victory over a highly-ranked West Virginia team – all without two of their top players. The Aggies have continued to win since then, including an impressive victory over another underrated team on the road, the USC Trojans.
Robert Williams and Tyler Davis give the Aggies the best frontcourt in college basketball, while Arizona might have the best frontcourt player in college basketball in Ayton. This will be a showdown between two really, really good teams, and, why it is on ESPN2 instead of ESPN is a mystery to me.

Texas A&M wins, furthering the argument for their deserved place as a top five team. The next time these two teams face off, however, could be in the Final Four.
