Butler Basketball: Keys for the Bulldogs to beat Arkansas in the first round
Kamar Baldwin and Paul Jorgensen
Kelan Martin is going to get his points for Butler. The senior is incredibly consistent as a scorer and accounts for around 20 points in every performance. However, who shows up to join him in the scoring column is often a mystery for the Bulldogs. Over the course of the season, the most common secondary scorers have been Baldwin and Jorgensen.
The two players get their points in extremely different ways and always seem to play off of each other well. Starting with Baldwin, the sophomore guard is adept at attacking the basket. Even though his dominant shooting hand is his left, Baldwin is ambidextrous when working the rim. His toolbox is stocked with an arsenal of moves that range from reverse lay-ups, to floaters with either hand, to pull-up mid-range jumpers.
Baldwin is also when on the best defending guards in the country. Despite being somewhat undersized, Baldwin is remarkably quick and has excellent hands that can pick a pocket or reach into a passing lane for a quick steal.
Jorgensen, on the other hand, likes to do his damage from behind the arc. Even though he has struggled as of late, the junior for New City, NY can let it fly from just about anywhere on the floor. If he starts to catch the hot hand, lining up for a trifecta from the March Madness logo would not ba surprise. Even though he is down to just 35.4% from three on the season, the danger he presents when he gets going is enough to draw attention from defenders.
