After all the excitement from last night, we take a look at the best second-round picks from the deep talent pool of the 2018 NBA Draft.

The 2018 NBA Draft class was considered deep by most evaluation experts. There was little drop off in talent from the late teens to the 40s. Experienced veterans, athletic projects, and even some college basketball legends went in the second round.

Several teams went home happy with the haul from their final picks, but which selections stood out as the best in the second round?

Jevon Carter – Pick 32 – West Virginia/Memphis Grizzlies

Carter, the second pick in the second round, set off a string off legendary, upperclassmen college point guards getting drafted, and he could not have landed in a more perfect situation.

I previously wrote about why I thought Carter would be a steal for some team in the second round. He won a slew of national accolades for his defensive prowess, he did whatever the Mountaineers asked him to do, he always plays hard, and he is an above average passer.

The defense and toughness fit in perfectly with the Grint n Grind Grizzlies. He could become the next Tony Allen for Memphis, right down to the potential limitations on offense at the NBA level.
