Eight of 69 players eligible from the Big Ten Conference was taken in the 2018 NBA Draft. That’s how difficult it is to make the NBA, but dreams will come true for those selected this past Thursday night.

The Big Ten saw four players taken in the first round and four in the second round of the draft.  They had the second-most players selected from the conference, while the ACC led the way with 10 selections. Six players from the ACC were selected in the first round as well.

The Spartans saw their best two players taken before any other player from the conference, which speaks volumes on the talent level of their program. The highest pick was Jaren Jackson Jr. at the fourth overall pick, although he’s their first Top 5 pick since the 2001 NBA Draft. Head coach Tom Izzo has built quite the dynasty in his tenure.

Next to Michigan State, their in-state rival Michigan also saw two players selected from their program. After making it to the Final Four this past March, their players look ready to make waves at the next level.
