Vincent Edwards, Purdue

After going without a draft pick from 2013 until 2016, the Purdue Boilermakers have turned in three draft picks in the past three seasons. Two of them have been of the second round variety, but it’s no easy feat nonetheless.

Forward Vincent Edwards is the latest Purdue to be drafted after being taken at 52nd overall by the Houston Rockets. At 6-foot-7, Edwards has the ability to play on the wing or in some cases, on the interior. Given the Rockets small-ball approach, Edwards will have a chance to prove he belongs this summer.

He averaged 14.6 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game as a senior in 2017-18. He shot 47.6 percent from the floor and 39.8 percent from 3-point range as well. Edwards may be a long shot to make the final roster but it’s certainly good to have a prospect like him in the wheelhouse.
