Duke Basketball returns with a new-look starting five in 2018-19. With that being said, here’s a look at three non-conference games to keep an eye on.

Head coach Mike Krzyzewski has evolved with the game of college basketball, especially in the recruiting game. He’ll boast a new crop of recruits after four opted in for the 2018 NBA Draft. Marvin Bagley III and Wendell Carter Jr. led the way in 2017-18 and in 2018-19, R.J. Barrett and Zion Williamson headline another talented group of freshmen.

The Blue Devils will have no easy road in their quest to remain as a national powerhouse. From the beginning of their non-conference schedule up until conference play, the challenges are present for some early growing pains. Their roster will boast just two seniors unless something dramatic happens between now and October.

Duke will be a young squad this upcoming as they return zero starters from last year’s team. Three players have a combined eight starts under their belt, but that’s about it in terms of starting experience on the Duke Blue Devils roster.

It will be interesting to see how they adjust to what’s set before them. They made it all the way to the Elite Eight last year before falling to the Kansas Jay Hawks. Their run begins from the first game as we take a look at their Top 3 non-conference opponents for 2018-19.
