Projected starters

The losses of Watanabe and Steeves will be felt in the frontcourt and Jair Bolden has transferred to South Carolina. Bolden produced 11.2 points, 3.1 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game through 32 games in 2017-18, starting in 24 contests. He didn’t start down the stretch for the Colonials, which probably contributed to his decision to transfer. Replacing him will be tough, although transfer guard Armel Potter is one player who can fill the void.

Terry Nolan Jr. averaged 9.1 points, 3.2 assists, 2.5 assists and 1.6 steals per game during his freshman season. He started in 31 of his 33 appearances for George Washington, scoring in double figures in 15 games. The backcourt won’t be so much of a problem for the George Washington Colonials, it’s their frontcourt that will need to adjust.

Arnaldo Toro will fill at least one of the forward spots, particularly on the interior for the Colonials in 2018-19. He started in 27 of his 33 appearances last season, putting up 7.8 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. 6-foot-7 transfer D.J. Williams is one likely option for them on the wing. He sat out the 2017-18 season after transferring from the University of Illinois.

Incoming freshman forward Marcus Littles is likely to overtake the center position for George Washington. Littles is a 6-foot-9, 260-pound big man who put up 9.6 points and 7.4 rebounds per game for Neuman Goretti (PA) as a senior. He’ll be looked upon to contribute right away in a rather depleted frontcourt.
