6. Jermaine Harris – Forward – Rhode Island

Head coach Dan Hurley left the Rhode Island Rams for the UConn Huskies head coaching job, but that didn’t stop forward Jermaine Harris from honoring his commitment. Harris chose the Rams over West Virginia and Xavier, two Power 5 contenders, and looks to make an impact right away as a freshman.

He is a 6-foot-8, four-star prospect, with the ability to play either forward position and in some instances, the center position, given his 200-pound frame. Harris has the ability to play inside and out, depending on what’s needed. Considering Rhode Island will need to replace Jared Terrell and E.C. Matthews, the addition of Harris comes at a good time.

Rhode Island will have solid guard play with the return of Jeff Dowtin and Fatts Russell, but their frontcourt will need more firepower. They’ll have Cyril Langevine back for his junior season, but not much else. Harris will be one player with the potential to contribute right away, especially with his versatility.
