12. Maryland-Eastern Shore Hawks

The Maryland-Eastern Shore (UMES) Hawks will be in dire straights after the 2018-19 season. They’ll be led by interim head coach Clifford Reed, but after that, they’ll conduct a nationwide search for a new coach. After posting a 7-25 record during the 2017-18 season, head coach Bobby Collins contract wasn’t renewed, allowing the program to go a different direction going forward.

UMES finished ranked 12th in the MEAC in points per game (62.2) as a team during the 2017-18 campaign and 347th in the nation. Junior Tyler Jones will need some help on offense after leading the team in scoring with 12.2 points per game last year. Ahmad Frost will also be back after putting 10.8 points per game during his sophomore season.

They’ll need to replace the losses of senior Logan McIntosh and transfer Miryne Thomas. McIntosh averaged 11.9 points, 4.6 assists and 4.0 rebounds per contest last season. Thomas was the lone bright spot for the UMES Hawks as a freshman. The 6-foot-8 forward produced  11.1 points and 7.8 rebounds per contest. After going 3-13 in MEAC play, they’ll have their work cut out for them in getting more victories in 2018-19.
