Texas A&M Basketball made a run to the Sweet 16 last year. They’ll look to make another run this March while changing their point of attack.

The Texas A&M Aggies had quite the year in 2017-18. They made a run to the Sweet 16 after finishing seventh in the SEC with a 9-9 record. After going 16-15 in 2016-17, head coach Billy Kennedy turned things around for his second NCAA Tournament appearance in the past three seasons.

The Aggies lost a lot of production from last season’s team so it will be interesting to see how they recoup. Big man Robert Williams left early for the NBA as did big man Tyler Davis, despite not getting drafted. That leaves them with senior guard Admon Gilder and sophomore guard T.J. Starks as their key returners. After being a dominant team in the post, their point of attack should change in 2018-19.

A couple transfers and their experience in the backcourt should change their status this upcoming season. With a guard-heavy attack, they certainly should be a better 3-point shooting team than a year ago. Last season, they were 10th in the SEC, shooting 32.9 percent from behind the arc.

Things will look a whole lot different for Texas A&M, but they could still contend for a spot in the NCAA Tournament. Here’s a look at the 2018-19 season preview for the Aggies.
