Virginia Tech Basketball: 3 keys for the Hokies against Saint Francis (PA)
Virginia Tech Basketball faces the Saint Francis (PA) Red Flash in their return home on Saturday. Here’s a look at three keys for the game.
The Virginia Tech Hokies enter their home contest against the Saint Francis (Pa.) Red Flash. The Hokies are 4-0 on the season coming off a big win over 24th-ranked Purdue Boilermakers in the Charleston Classic this past Sunday.
Guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker had a coming out party, taking home the MVP award when it was all said and done. He put up 25 points, a team-high seven rebounds and three assists in the Hokies’ 89-83 victory.
It was their first non-conference tournament win since 2008 and it looks like head coach Buzz Williams hasn’t skipped a beat despite missing a key player. Virginia Tech returns home on Saturday afternoon to face the Red Flash, a team that is just 1-3 on the season but the Hokies shouldn’t take any team lightly.
Saint Francis has face two ranked opponents in the UCLA Bruins and UNC Tar Heels already this season, so they’ve faced some tough competition already. Every game is a test for them, especially when it comes to their lack of depth.
Their depth will be tested constantly this season but they’ve proven that their starters can win them games this season. As the Hokies continue to climb up the ranks, they’ll get every team’s best game. Here’s a look at three keys for their upcoming game against the Red Flash.
