Nevada (8-0)

Prior to my start here at Busting Brackets, I told my good pal Tim about how this Nevada team will be a national title contender.  Tim, a lethal shooter in his own right when it comes to shooting paper towels into the trash bin at the gym from lengthy distances, told me he’d take my word on it.

Now, at 8-0, it’s hard to envision the Wolf Pack not riding the Muss Bus pretty far this season.  With November wins over KenPom Top 100 teams such as BYU, Loyal Chicago and USC, it’s tricky to try and pin-point where their first loss will pop up.

December presents non-conference clashes with the previously mentioned Arizona State on December 7th as well as one of my Mid-Major All-Americans in Mike Daum and South Dakota State on the 15th.

Realistically, both of these should be wins for the experienced Wolf Pack.

With the top ranked offense in adjusted efficiency and a Top-40 team on the defensive side of the ball, Nevada has positioned themselves to be an absolute nightmare from here on out.

Behind the play of Caleb & Cody Martin, Jordan Caroline and Jazz Johnson, the Wolf Pack should make it through December without fault.

Looking ahead, the game that KenPom projects to be the trickiest for them will come February 20th against Jalen McDaniels and San Diego State and March 2nd against the sneaky good Utah State squad.

KenPom gives Nevada a 75% chance to win both of these tilts.

Having made it through USC and should they make it past Arizona State, I don’t see how the second most experienced team in the country, behind Hartford, drops a game in the regular season.

The next time I can see this team slipping up is if their dancing shoes aren’t tied tight and the magic of the Madness catches them.

Next Loss: Final Four.
