14. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (5-3)

Last week: 13th (↓1)

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are another team struggling in the ACC, but their issues are more on the offensive end than the defensive end. Defensively, they’ve been stellar, allowing 58.8 points per game, which ranks 13th in the nation and third in the conference.

Offensively, they’re the complete opposite. They rank last currently in the conference in points per game (70.5) which is also 272nd in the nation.

They’re led by senior guard Brandon Alston (12.5 ppg) and sophomore guard Jose Alvarado (12.9 ppg), the only players averaging double figures in scoring on the team. With some very young contributors in the fold, the Yellow Jackets are another team that could be in for a long season in ACC play.

They’ve still maintained a record of 5-3 with single digit losses to the Northwestern Wildcats and St. John’s Red Storm. Georgia Tech will have two more Power 5 opponents to face in the Arkansas Razorbacks and Georgia Bulldogs, which could be the season’s turning point.
