Gonzaga Basketball: 3 keys for the Bulldogs against North Carolina
Gonzaga Basketball returns to action on Saturday as they travel on the road to face the North Carolina Tar Heels. Here’s a look at three keys to victory.
The Gonzaga Bulldogs lost their first game of the season this past Sunday, 76-73, against the Tennessee Volunteers. The loss is their one blemish in what’s been an emerging season for 6-foot-10 forward Rui Hachimura. With a record of 9-1, they still remain a threat though as the fourth-ranked team in AP Poll.
Hachimura is putting up 22.2 points and 6.4 rebounds per contest and shooting 56.5 percent from the field for Gonzaga as one of the more versatile scorers in college basketball. Behind him are Zach Norvell Jr., Brandon Clarke and Josh Perkins which has made for quite the experienced bunch.
Norvell and Perkins are both shooting the ball at an efficient rate from behind the arc. Norvell is shooting 37.9 percent from the 3-point line while Perkins is shooting 37.8 percent. Both have proven to be valuable assets alongside Hachimura this season but another challenge on the road awaits.
The teams haven’t met since the 2017 National Championship game. In what’s sure to be another exciting game, it will be interesting to see how Gonzaga responds after falling to Tennessee this past Sunday. Here’s a look at three keys to victory for Gonzaga against the Tar Heels.
