Virginia Tech Hokies
The Virginia Tech Hokies are another team that’s seen their profile rise in 2018-19. As the 13th-ranked team in the AP Poll, the Hokies are one of the top 3-point shooting teams in the nation, but they could use some frontcourt assistance.
Junior forward Kerry Blackshear Jr. could use some help in the frontcourt. He’s averaging 5.4 rebounds but also 3.3 fouls per game this season for the Hokies. As their lone big man, there’s room in the paint for another big man to flourish.
At times, the Hokies offense hits a snag given their knack for shooting the 3-ball. Wahab’s ability to run the floor and crash the boards could come in handy in the Virginia Tech rotation if he were to join it.
Virginia Tech already has four commitments in their 2019 recruiting class, including DMV natives, Anthony Harris and Yavuz Gultekin. Wahab would be another solid DMV prospect to earn the Hokies pledge and it’d show their strength in the area in the process.
