ACC Basketball Power Rankings: Louisville and UNC climb into top 5

The standings look a lot different than what was projected at the beginning of the season. Here’s a look at the current ACC basketball power rankings.

There’s quite an interesting look to the current ACC basketball standings, depending on who you’re focused on. The Virginia Cavaliers and Duke Blue Devils are both at the top with records of 6-1 but they’re also joined at the top by the Louisville Cardinals, who are also 6-1.

Blue Devils freshmen R.J. Barrett and Zion Williamson aren’t the only stars of the show in the conference. Louisville sophomore Jordan Nwora is another player growing into his own under a new guard.

The Cardinals have reeled off five straight ACC victories heading into this week, including a convincing 21-point victory over the North Carolina Tar Heels on the road. First-year head coach Chris Mack has his squad playing well heading into the back end of the schedule.

The Pittsburgh Panthers were projected by ACC media to finish last in the conference, but right now,  there’s a two-way tie between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Wake Forest Demon Deacons for last place. The Panthers

While every team in the conference has at least one conference victory, only four have suffered just one notch in the loss column. With so much power at the top, there’s been a steady shift in the Top 5 power rankings following so much league action.
