ACC Basketball Bracketology: VT, Syracuse and NC State still have work to do

ACC basketball has seen an interesting shift in teams heading into a pivotal month of February. Here’s a look at this week’s ACC Bracketology report.

The ACC basketball landscape is shaping up to be an interesting place after an interesting place from an NCAA Tournament point of view after Wednesday nights action. The North Carolina Tar Heels got a convincing home win over the NC State Wolfpack, 113-96, for their sixth-straight win in conference play.

At 8-1, the Tar Heels look like they’re in prime position for some movement in the Bracketology discussion after Luke Maye racked up a season-high 31 points to go along with 12 points in a route.

The Duke Blue Devils got a convincing win as well over the Boston College Golden Eagles on Wednesday night, 80-55. The Blue Devils avenged an 89-84 road loss to the Golden Eagles back on Dec. 9, 2017.

Cam Reddish led their freshmen trio with 24 points, R.J. Barrett finished with 19 points and Zion Williamson had 16 points. As the young trio begins to figure things out and stays healthy, a rematch looms this weekend against the ACC‘s top team.

In a battle of teams out of the Bracketology debate, the Pittsburgh Panthers and Wake Forest Demon Deacons battled it out in overtime, with Wake Forest snapping a five-game losing streak for 78-76 win over the Panthers.
