ACC Basketball Bracketology: Duke clear 1 seed, Clemson still on bubble
ACC basketball is shaping up to be an interesting one come March. Here’s the latest look at the movement in the conference bracketology.
ACC basketball has been an exciting place in the last few weeks. Over the weekend, the Duke Blue Devils showed why they’re the team to beat in the ACC and probably the best in the nation with a 81-71 victory in Charlottesville over the Virginia Cavaliers.
Impressively enough, the Blue Devils are 6-0 in road games this season and have won their last two in conference action after a 23-point comeback victory against the Louisville Cardinals on Wednesday night. Duke is growing right before our eyes and in turn, they’re showing why they’re a contender for the national title.
They’ve got the tools in Zion Williamson, R.J. Barrett and Cam Reddish to make it all the way to the final weekend. In their shadow still lurks the Virginia Cavaliers, though. The Cavaliers shook off their loss to Duke on Saturday night by getting a 69-61 victory in Chapel Hill on Wednesday night.
Virginia shot 11-of-20 shooting from behind the arc as a squad, led by Kyle Guy’s 5-of-9 spree for 20 points. De’Andre Hunter shot 3-of-3 from 3-point land as well. Despite a loss on Saturday, they still look like losses are more like learning experiences than anything else.
Duke and Virginia aren’t the only teams making noise with March quickly approaching. Halfway through the month of February, here’s a look at this week’s ACC basketball bracketology.
