3. Find Braxton Beverly on offense

The 3-point line hasn’t been the greatest asset for the NC State Wolfpack, but for Braxton Beverly, it’s been his bread and butter. Beverly is coming off a career-high 21 points in a much-needed 73-58 victory over the Syracuse Orange on Wednesday night.

While other experienced players have struggled, Beverly has stepped his game up. He’s had his own struggle though, going 0-of-12 from the field and 0-of-9 from 3-point range against Virginia Tech in their loss on Feb. 2. Now, he’s averaging 18.3 points per game and shooting 13-of-22 (59 percent) from behind the arc across the Wolfpack’s last three contests.

He wasn’t in the starting rotation to begin the season, but that’s changed drastically since the Wolfpack’s 7-1 start to the season. As the team’s best 3-point threat, he has added tremendous value as the team’s X-factor.

He won’t be the only player to keep an eye on but a solid game from Beverly will certainly keep the Wolfpack’s chances of pulling off an upset very high. Another intriguing stat: NC State saw all five starters score in double figures in last year’s upset. Beverly finished with 14 points and five assists as well.
