ACC basketball didn’t have many upsets this past week, but there was still a lot to take away from the weekend’s slate of games.

There weren’t a whole lot of upsets this past weekend in ACC play but some teams did what they needed to do to stay on the positive side of the college basketball spectrum.

The Duke Blue Devils and Virginia Cavaliers both continue to look like teams that will make deep runs in the NCAA Tournament, possibly to the final weekend. Duke defeated the NC State Wolfpack on Saturday and with the North Carolina Tar Heels up next on Wednesday, things should start to get entertaining in the coming weeks.

The Virginia Cavaliers completed a season sweep of the Virginia Tech Hokies with a 64-58 victory in Blacksburg on Monday night. The win marks the fifth win in the last eight meetings with the Hokies and shows that even though they’ve beat Duke twice, they’re still a tough out.

Just when it looked like the Boston College Golden Eagles were spiraling out of control, they’ve won two games in row to put their record at 4-8 in league action. They got a big victory over the Miami Hurricanes, 64-57 on Saturday. Big performances from Jordan Chatman (17 points) and Nik Popovic (15 points) gave them the boost they needed to beat the Hurricanes.
