Florida Basketball has a great chance to make a statement on the road against LSU, but they’ve struggled with being consistent. What has to happen for the Gators to win this game?

Florida Gator fans have probably been biting their fingernails until they’ve reached the bone this season. They are currently on the outside of the NCAA Tournament picture, and they’re running out of time to gain ground.

The main reason that Florida remains outside the field is because they’ve been unable to beat the big teams in their conference. So far, they’ve failed to beat Kentucky, Tennessee, Auburn, or Mississippi State. Those would’ve been upsets, but they need to be able to at least get one or two wins in matchups like that.

However, this team is currently riding on the coattails of an upset on the road over Alabama. Not only did they beat the Crimson Tide, but they beat them convincingly. Other than a brief run by the Tide halfway through the second half, the Gators had total control of the game in a harsh environment. If they can come into Baton Rouge and do the same thing, they might find a way to win.

That being said, this is definitely easier said than done. LSU has only one loss in conference play, and it was a fluke. This team doesn’t have flukes very often. The offensive tandem of Tremont Waters and Naz Reid has been borderline dominant. It’s something the Gators will have to prepare for.

Florida’s backs are definitely against the wall, and they have to prepare for every game as if it’s the one that will determine their fate. In fact, it very well might. Because of this, I expect Florida to be ready for the challenge of playing LSU. However, it will take a lot more than simply being ready.

So how does Florida pull off the upset? Here’s what I got.
