Michigan vs Michigan State is finally here. Fans of each school have been waiting all year long for this matchup and they will be lucky enough to see it twice in two weeks. What has widely been considered the top two teams in the Big Ten will finally square off in Ann Arbor on Sunday afternoon. Both teams sit at 13-3 in the conference and the winner will take control of the Big Ten, with only Purdue being able to challenge either one for the title.

Michigan is coming off a big road win at Minnesota on Thursday where they hit 13-28 three-pointers in a shooting display that has been missing lately. Jordan Poole led the way with 22 points including 5-9 from the outside. Jon Teske came up big also, tying a career high with 17 points. Besides a two-minute lapse in defense in the second half, the Wolverines played their most complete game in a long time. The Wolverines had struggled on the road lately so this was a huge boost for them.

Michigan State comes in with a four-game winning streak after beating Rutgers on Wednesday night. It was their first game without star big man Nick Ward, who fractured a bone in his hand against Ohio State last weekend. The Spartans got off to a slow start and trailed the Scarlet Knights by seven at halftime before overwhelming them in the second half for an 11 point victory. Cassius Winston continues to lead the way for the Spartans, but he will need to shoulder more of the load with Ward out.

It’s a matchup that has been great the last few years and will be sure not to disappoint this time around. So what does Michigan need to do to stay perfect at home and get a big win over their rival? We take a look at three keys for them to get the win.
