The first round of the ACC Tournament got off without a hitch. Here’s a look at early reactions from the first day of ACC basketball.

In the first day of action in ACC basketball, it was an interesting first round in the ACC tournament for all parties involved. The lower seeded teams won in all but one of the three games to open the ACC tournament, showing parity isn’t just reserved for the regular season.

The Miami Hurricanes handled business in the early game of the ACC Tournament with a 79-71 victory over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Head coach Danny Manning had a bitter end to a disappointing 2018-19 season. It will be interesting to see if he’ll be employed by the end of the summer.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish ended their seven-game losing streak with a big victory over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. One has to expect for head coach Josh Pastner seat to start heating up, especially with the recruiting season heating up. He’ll need to make some moves or his job could be in jeopardy.

The Pittsburgh Panthers were the other lower seed to steal a victory in the opening round over the Boston College Golden Eagles. Xavier Johnson and Trey McGowens combined for 48 points in the ACC tournament debut. They’ll need to do more of that in the second round against Syracuse. Here’s a look at the early reactions from the first round of the ACC basketball tournament.
