Vasa Pusica – Northeastern

Northeastern pulled off the upset over a strong Hofstra team in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) final thanks in large part to 21 points (all on three-pointers) from Pusica.

Pusica, like several players on this list, has a little bit of everything in the tool kit (17.8-3.9-4.2-1.5 steals) highlighted by his other two CAA Tournament performances: 13-5-7-2-1 in the semifinals vs Charleston and 16-6-7-1-1 in the first round vs UNC Wilmington.

Ahmaad Rorie – Montana

The Montana Grizzlies are playing Michigan in the first round of the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row. This time around, despite being one seed line worse, Rorie and company enter the meeting with more confidence.

The former Oregon Duck leads a quartet of double-digit scorers with 15.1 points per game. He also averages 4.1 rebounds and 4.0 assists.

D’Marcus Simonds – Georgia State

D’Marcus Simonds is not afraid of the big moment, ask UL Monore who lost to Georgia State on a Simonds buzzer beater earlier this season.

Simonds (18.7-4.9-3.7-1.3) has put together a number of strong performances this year: 17-6-8 in a blowout of Georgia, 30 at Montana, and 23 in a win at  Alabama. Simonds and the Panthers will not be afraid of Houston.
