Murray State basketball made its mark on Thursday evening to make their mark in NCAA Tournament. Here’s a look at the reactions from the game.

Bracket watchers beware, Murray State basketball is here to ruin your bracket. The No. 12 seeded Murray State Racers beat the Marquette Golden Eagles 83-64 to open the NCAA Tournament with an upset on Thursday evening. The Racers led by just seven points at halftime but in the second half, they turned things up led by playmaking point guard Ja Morant. Morant was stellar as he posted his third triple-double of the season and at one point, had more assists than points, to shock the Golden Eagles.

Murray State’s smothering defense was too much for Marquette in the end. The Golden Eagles didn’t score a field goal in the final 3:29 to close out the contest. They looked helpless as the Racers fastbreak put up 23 points on the break and outscored them 40-24 in the paint. Four starters in the Racers starting lineup finished scoring in double figures to complement Morant’s play. They finished the game shooting 53.6 percent from the field and 50 percent from the 3-point line as a team as well.

Now, they’re looking to do more damage as they will face the Florida State Seminoles in the Round of 32. As they move on, here’s a look at reactions from their upset victory over Marquette.
